Revolution of the Fairytale
21 February-20 March
This collaborative exhibition re-explores fairytales from a Caribbean perspective
The Revolution of the Fairytale is a powerful collaborative artistic project which focuses on the representation of Caribbean people in fairytales from popular (European) culture, incorporating unknown and unsung heroes with Caribbean backgrounds. Photographers, designers, videographers, and writers have come together and contributed their skills and passions to tell Caribbean stories in engaging, inspiring and relatable ways.
In the summer of 2017, stories like Alice In Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, Snow White, and Rapunzel were all recreated and the results are as stunning as they are educational and informative.
Join us for the U.K. launch of this very necessary project at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre from 21 February to 20 March 2018, with a special film screening taking place on 24 February.
