This privacy policy sets out how the Bernie Grant Arts Centre uses and protects any information that you give the Centre while using our website, purchasing tickets, creating an account, donation forms, e-newsletters or event sign-ups and visitor surveys.

The Bernie Grant Arts Centre is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Any time we ask you to provide information by which you can be identified, whether by using the website or purchasing tickets by other means, we are committed to using and protecting your information in accordance with this statement.  We are committed to using clear language with customers regarding their data and empowering customers to control their personal data.

The Bernie Grant Arts Centre may update this policy from time to time. Please check this page from time to time to ensure you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from July 12th, 2019.

What we collect

We may collect the following information when you purchase tickets or create an account on our ticketing system:

Name and job title
Contact information including email address
Demographic information such as address, postcode, preferences and interests
Other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers

What we do with the information we gather

We require this information in order to process your ticket order, make you aware of future events taking place at the Centre, and in particular for the following reasons:

Internal record keeping.
We may use the information to improve our products and services.
If you have opted into marketing communications, we may periodically send promotional emails about future events, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
We may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail regarding an order you have placed should we need to make you aware of something relevant to the event you will attend.

From time to time, we may use your information to contact you for market research purposes.

We may also contact you for legitimate business purposes, including but not limited to box office alerts, venue hire, community development, human resources and general services.

Debit and Credit Card Information

Box office transactions are processed via Spektrix Ltd, and financial transactions through SagePay. Both are required to comply strictly with data protection laws. We may collect your data to process a credit/debit card transaction, which may be passed onto a third party service provider to complete the financial transaction.  Card details will only be held to complete this transaction, and will not be stored on our server. If you use your credit or debit card to make a purchase from us, or to make a donation, we will ensure this is carried out securely and in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file placed on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, such as by saving your password for a particular website.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

When you create your account with us, do not tick the box that opts you in to receiving marketing communications from us.

If you have previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time by logging into your account through the My Account button and changing your contact preferences.

If you have signed up to receive our e-newsletter, you can opt out by using the unsubscribed link.

You will find a link to unsubscribe in all our e-newsletters and marketing emails.

We will not share your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
