Having lived a life on the frontline of many history-defining moments of the last century, author, journalist and broadcaster, Gary Younge, brings us his Dispatches from the Diaspora. An award winning collection of journalism on race, racism and black life and death from one of the nation’s leading political voices.

As structures exist beyond individual responsibility, to bear the costs of structural inequality can be a gaslighting, if not mentally exhausting experience. In this panel we discuss those structures, dissect their effect and hear from those navigating our societies structural inequalities.

Join Kaia Laurielle for a listening and vocal workshop exploring love, self-love and home through song and listening. Listen and sing in concert with new found friends and to reflect on the love and intimacies shared in moments of solitude and community.

#TLF23 Talk: Our Own worlds – Black writers on what nourishes us
How do we show care to our loved ones and ourselves? What are the practices we can and do engage with that replenish and energise us? In this panel we discuss the individual and group practices that nourish us. We look at cultural, generational and geographic notions of care and connection, and talk about what we need to contend with the realities of modern life. This panel includes Kandace Siobhan Walker and Jesse Bernard.
