HARINGEY FEAST | PAULSIMNA CREATIVES
7th & 14th October 2023
Discover and learn about African History whilst making vibrant coasters!
Haringey Feast is bringing together Haringey’s creators, cultural organisations, and residents to celebrate everything creative our unique borough has to offer.
This is building up to a spectacular free celebration of Haringey’s creativity at Alexandra Palace on Sunday 19 November 2023. Everyone will come together around a giant table to enjoy music, performances, and experience incredible local creativity.
Leading up to the day, free workshops, and maker classes, led by local creatives will be held across the borough – in schools, libraries, care homes, arts venues, and community centres and more, including Paulsimna Creatives.
Come and make African inspired table coasters, which will adorn the Haringey Feast tables at Alexandra Palace, in workshops from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm.
Combining recycled bottle tops and African cloth, discover and learn about African History whilst making vibrant coasters.
These Haringey Feast workshops are at Bernie Grant Arts Centre in celebration of Black History Month.
Paulsimna Creatives’ workshops aim to inspire, introduce and investigate creativity through African History. Workshops will be led by Paulette Robinson, a local resident, teacher and artist.
For the Haringey Feast legacy, we will be donating the creations made through the workshops to the local community, after they have been used at Alexandra Palace on Sunday 19 November. Care homes, schools, children’s homes and charities will fully benefit from this cultural celebration of creativity in which items are made by the community for the community.
Explore the Haringey Feast website to find out more about the project. This Haringey Feast opportunity is completely free of charge.
Haringey Feast is funded by a Cultural Impact Award, awarded to exemplary individual projects as part of the Mayor of London’s London Borough of Culture programme.
