CINEMA AT THE CENTRE: CHECK IT

Clap your hands and say yeah! BGAC has an announcement to make that has us so amped we’re bursting with exclamation marks! During Black Celebration Month, on Thursday 6th October 2022, we’re launching the first of our monthly film nights that we’re calling Cinema at the Centre. On the first Thursday of each month from October onwards, we’re bringing precious Black story celluloid gems to Tottenham. Our first roll out to reach out is a three film Queer season that is going to take us to the end of the year.

The film jump starting our big screen journey is Check It (2016) – “Fed up with being pushed around, a group of  Black Gay and Trans teens form Check It, a gang fighting back on the streets of Washington D.C. to turn the tables on anyone trying to hurt them.”

In a documentary that is stark and vocal, can Check It’s collective devotion lead to group ascension?
