CELEBRATING BLACKNESS
Sunday, 30th October
A celebratory evening of poetry & music...
This evening sees a collection of amazing Black artists who work, live and play in Haringey come together to celebrate Black pioneers. It is a night where you are invited to come and sing along to classics and new songs in an electrifying and powerful way to end the month of October.
The night begins with ancestral drummers and dancers filling the air with a radiance and power that establishes a moment of collectiveness. In this moment we give thanks to those artists, heroes, activists, writers and storytellers that have created a pathway to Blackness.
We are thrilled to have a great line-up of performers who have graced our television screens, in shows such as The Voice Uk and Britain’s Got Talent. They have been influential to the emerging young Black talent in the UK and are professional role models and peers.
On the night Jermain Jackman, Adenike Adewale and Modupe Obasola grace us with a sensational collection of songs that will fill the theatre with their exceptional talent. They will be joined by local singer Lorel, and singer-songwriter I am Sakred Soul.
