Administrator

The Administrator is the first point of contact for visitors as they are based at the reception desk. They are responsible for delivering administrative and financial support, whilst providing ticketing/box office services and customer enquiries.

The Administrator supports the BGAC office and all company administration including routine office systems – filing, correspondence, communications, IT hardware and software, office supplies, and equipment. They support the organisations Human Resources and Finance functions through data entry and processing information. They will also contribute to the efficient running of the Front of House team.

They deputise for the Box Office and Front of House Manager, whilst providing personal assistant support to the Executive Team.

We are seeking a strong individual, with a high level of attention to detail, strong administrative skills and someone that wants to grow in the role and develop their skills. You will need to be a highly motivated, people-person with outstanding communication skills and a passion and commitment to celebrating cultural diversity in the arts.

Box Office Assistant

The Box Office Assistant is the first point of contact for visitors to arts events to the Bernie Grant Arts Centre. They support the smooth operation of events through providing ticketing services, customer enquiries and support to the greater organisation. They deliver a high standard of service and information to provide a welcoming and nurturing environment for visitors and artists. They contribute to the efficient running of the Front of House team.

The position is on a part time basis, working 15 hours a week primarily at weekends and weeknights. There are casual positions also available, please let us know when applying which contact you are interested in.

We are seeking a strong individual, with previous box office or FOH experience. You will need to be a highly motivated, customer service focused, with outstanding communication skills and a passion and commitment to celebrating cultural diversity in the arts.

Duty Manager

We are looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable people to join our friendly Operational team at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre. The Duty Managers provide a pivotal role in ensuring productions and events are delivered to efficiently and to a high standard. They are responsible for overseeing the Front of House Team and supporting visiting companies to ensure enjoyable audience experiences. Across all three buildings on the campus, they oversee and support operational requirements that includes Health & Safety, venue hire, and presentation standards.

Successful candidates will have experience in customer service, managing or supervising a team, have confidence in dealing with challenging situations and an ability to work effectively in a pleasant manner with a wide range of visitors and staff. We are looking for people who will be available to work at events, predominately weeknights and weekends.
We are seeking a strong individual, with previous duty manager experience. You will need to be a highly motivated, able to deal with challenging situations, possess outstanding communication skills and a passion and commitment to celebrating cultural diversity in the arts.

Technician

Working closely with and reporting to the Production and Technical Manager, the Technician is responsible for helping to deliver high quality performances and events, operating technical elements for productions and maintaining equipment and the facilities.

The post of the technician will help assist in the development and production planning of events from visiting companies, hirers, and in new works developed at the Bernie Grant Arts centre. They will also contribute to the efficient running of the production team.

The technician will need to have strong lighting skills, and confidence to operate sound, scenic and rigging equipment whilst providing a safe environment for all staff, audiences, cast and visiting companies. Experience in health and safety for theatre and events abiding to risk assessments and health and safety regulations

A strong individual, with vision and drive you will need to be a highly motivated, people-person with outstanding communication skills and a passion and commitment to celebrating cultural diversity in the arts.
