Ushers

Casual: sessional based contract, various hours

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and reliable people to join our friendly Front of House team at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre. As an Usher you will work to provide an excellent audience experience for all visitors, welcoming people to the Centre and ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.

Usher staff will work in the performance space, where we will present work by a diverse range of artists at varying stages in their careers, and the studios, which present and support works by our students, new artists and visiting companies.  The purpose-built complex includes a 274 seat and fully equipped auditorium, multi-purpose studio spaces, a boutique cinema, a clustering of 20 enterprise units, and an award-winning café and bar to showcase high quality theatre, dance, film, literature and visual arts.

We strongly encourage applicants from within our local community, as we are looking to engage and strengthen our community links.  This would be a great opportunity for young people to enter the workforce, gain skills and knowledge about working in a professional environment or people looking to earn additional income outside of standard business hours. We are looking for people who will be available to work at events during the evening as well as day duties. Your availability should include Saturdays and Sundays.

The Bernie Grant Arts Centre aims to be both the UK’s leading space for the development of artists from culturally diverse communities, and a local hub for the arts in Tottenham. We are an equal opportunities employer and are looking for applicants from all backgrounds to come and join our team.
