6 & 13 December

A musical tale of love, loss, friendship and Bohemia in modern-day New York

Rent is a vibrant musical about friends living, loving and falling out.

Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical, and a key inspiration for Lin Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton, Rent is one of the most important and popular musicals of the last 30 years.

Set in pre-gentrified New York on the Upper East Side, Rent follows a year of the lives of impoverished artists trying to live life to the full under the pressure of landlords and the shadows of the HIV/AIDs epidemic. Despite all of this, they all live for their art and the love of bohemia.

The film adaptation features many of the original cast and is predominantly POC, with actors such as Rosario Dawson, Taye Diggs and Jessse L Martin (currently starring in Flash).

Jam-packed with songs, dance, romance and conflict, Rent is sure to bring the heat on these cold winter nights.
