New Daughters Of Africa

21 June

Join Zadie Smith and Candice Carty-Williams for an evening of literature, poetry & prose

New Daughters of Africa – Margaret Busby’s major new global anthology of writing by over 200 women of African descent, comes to the Bernie Grant Arts Centre with an evening of literature, poetry and prose by women of Caribbean heritage, including Zadie Smith, Candice Carty-Williams, Margaret Busby, Andrea Stuart and chaired by Adeola Solenke.

Twenty-five years ago, Margaret Busby’s anthology Daughters of Africa was published to international acclaim and hailed as ‘an extraordinary body of achievement… a vital document of lost history’ (Sunday Times). New Daughters of Africa builds on this rich tradition for a new generation of women writers in the landscape of African women’s writing today.
