This show takes you on a nostalgic journey to the golden years of Lovers Rock, the 70’s and 80’s, when many children of the Windrush Generation were in the flush of their youth entering adulthood.
Theatre boldly meets music with cheeky stories highlighting the Lovers Rock lifestyle, the fashion, the attitudes and influences. The important part played by the church in many Afro-Caribbean households, the highs and lows of falling in love for the first time.
Supported by a live band, Lovers Rock music is played throughout the show including the early hit tunes of Janet Kay ‘Silly Games’, Carroll Thompson ‘Hopelessly in Love’ and Victor Romero Evans ‘At The Club’, guaranteeing you a foot tapping sing-along experience.
