6 & 25 April

Black French women exploring the intersections of misogyny and racism

Mariannes Noires looks into the lives of seven French Black women. As leaders in fields as diverse as entrepreneurship, academia and dance, they all fight to be seen as French in a country that erases them. Add in the relative dominance of Black American culture, these women fight to assert their own French Blackness. Looking across issues from Black hair, visibility, terrorism, self care and economic equality these women forge their own stories and aren’t afraid to speak up.
