Jason Holliday shares his own perspective on his encounter with filmmaker Shirley Clarke

When Shirley Clarke set out to make Portrait of Jason, her 1967 doc about hustler and cabaret performer Jason Holliday, she invited him to her Chelsea Hotel penthouse and got him talking, for 12 hours. Yet some accused Clarke of exploitation as she goaded Jason from behind the camera. This doc explores the encounter from Jason’s point of view.
