Summer School 2019: HIP HOP Literacy

19 - 23 August

An interactive and fun look at the origins of Hip Hop culture

The Bernie Grant Arts Centre Summer School is back! Are you aged 14 – 18 and living in Tottenham? Are you interested in hip hop, dance, or comic books? This is one of three workshops on offer, run by highly skilled artists, during the summer holidays. We’re offering you the opportunity to get creative and delve a little deeper into your interests or perhaps a chance to develop a new passion.

About the HIP HOP Literacy workshops

Student of Life presents The Hip Hop Literacy Program, an interactive and fun look at the origins of Hip Hop culture and the history of rap. Participants will take part in writing exercises and express themselves through a rap and poetry performance.

What to Bring
We will provide all the materials you’ll need for the workshop, but please bring a big imagination! It’ll be thirsty work so it’s a good idea to bring a bottle of water and a packed lunch. Most importantly bring loads of enthusiasm and energy!
