Breaking the chains film festival

This August, the Bernie Grant Arts Centre brings the Breaking the Chains Film Festival to Tottenham in partnership with Black History Studies. Five extraordinary films tell the stories of resistance fighters, survivors, and joyful reunification. Book your tickets today and discover the best venue for independent cinema in Tottenham.

Developed by Black History Studies, the Breaking the Chains Film Festival highlights the history and legacy of the enslavement of African peoples through the Maangamizi, a Swahili term which speaks to the intentionality of the African holocaust. The festival incorporates a programme of feature films, documentaries, presentations, and engaging post-film discussions with audience members.
