A sensation between delight and anxiety,
dance and spoken word. A performance
looking for a spine to tingle.
The Shiver blurs and breaks the boundaries between dance, music, image, and spoken word. Three dancers explore the psychology and physiology, the emotions and events behind why we shiver...whether through pain or pleasure.
Based on an original idea from a Radio 4 documentary by the poet and writer Lemn Sissay, The shiver features original text from Lemn and cutting-edge science from Oxford neuroscientist Professor Morten Kringelbach. The artistic Director and Choreographer is Subathra Subramaniam.
