In an area renowned for cultural diversity, how better way to celebrate than the 4th Wood Green International Youth Day Film Festival which takes place on Saturday 27th March.
Held at Cineworld, Wood Green Shopping City, films from a range of cultures will be shown to provide fun, inspiration, provoke thought and above all, enable the opportunity to mingle with professionals and celebrities, who will offer industry-specific careers advice and lots more.
There will be 3 screening sessions through the day:
Session 1 - Reel Relationships - 10.45-12.30
Youth-made films that focus on relationships followed by an interactive audience screen quiz with discussion, all humorously hosted by a local guest star.
Session 2 - Music Videos - 13.00-14.45
A selection of music videos from the urban underground followed by a Q & A with a panel of experts sharing top tips on how to shoot a performance video. The panel includes Mo Ali, the UKs hottest, young, Black director who has successfully crossed over from music videos (incl Lethal B, Chipmunk & many more) to feature films (Shank 2010).
Session 3 - Dare to Dream - 15.15-18.00
Narrative based films followed by a discussion with the directors of Freestyle & Shank on what it takes to get a feature film made in the UK.
