Marcus Fearon was born in London in 1983, and completed an Art Foundation Diploma in 2002. Subsequently he completed a degree in Architecture in 2006 for which he awarded the 2003 Stephen Lawrence Architectural Scholarship. At present he is completing a postgraduate degree for MSc Building Surveying.
His artwork is simply a tension between the looseness of fine art, and the rigid rules of architecture, essentially chaos vs. order. His art borders between representation and abstraction, and these themes are explored in three series of his current works, portraits series, reflections series, and one blood series.
Tony Panayiotou Director of Diversity, Arts Council England said of Marcus "I have had a look at your website and found your work very interesting, challenging - particularly the 'One blood' series of paintings."
The One Blood series has been inspired by trying to explore the relationship between the environment and himself. One could argue that thought is always changing, the physical body sheds and rebuilds it self, what is seen as a reality will become a memory. By trying to capture and hold onto thoughts they are lost, the original thought changes its form into something different either positive or negative. This series of work is about using the powerful medium of blood and celebrating being in the moment of thought.
